Hana Bath Qualifies for Junior Grand Prix Final
Hana Bath has qualified for the 2026–27 ISU Junior Grand Prix Final after winning both of her Junior Grand Prix assignments, in Riga, Latvia, and Ljubljana, Slovenia. The results follow her silver medal at the 2026 World Junior Figure Skating Championships. Her Riga victory also made her the first Australian singles skater to win an ISU Junior Grand Prix title.

Two wins secure the Final place
Bath earned her Final qualification through victories at both stops on her Junior Grand Prix campaign. Riga delivered a landmark first for Australian singles skating; the second win came in Ljubljana, where she landed a triple Axel-triple toe combination in her free skate.
The Final berth adds a new milestone to a season already marked by a World Junior medal. Bath’s back-to-back Junior Grand Prix wins carry that momentum into the series’ concluding event, where she will compete after establishing herself as a winner at both assignments.
World Junior silver preceded the run
At the 2026 World Junior Figure Skating Championships, Bath became the first Australian singles skater to win a medal at an ISU Championship. She took silver and won the free skate, setting personal best scores in both programs.
The result extended a progression that included silver at the Junior Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi in 2025. Junior Worlds was a new national benchmark, while her subsequent Riga and Ljubljana victories showed that her success was not confined to a single championship performance.
More than a medal milestone
Bath described the World Junior silver as a moment of history for Australia and said she was proud to be the first. She also recalled that the achievement took time to register, saying her immediate feeling was happiness with her performance.
After the championships, Bath was named an athlete of the Winter Olympic Institute of Australia. She said the appointment gave her access to additional funding and support, including people she could consult. That backing followed a result that raised the profile of Australian singles skating at ISU Championship level.
Performance remains part of the work
Bath’s Junior Worlds results included personal bests in both programs, but she has continued to identify areas for development. She has spoken about improving spins, step sequences and performance quality, alongside the technical elements that underpin her programs.
The triple Axel has been a key element of her skating, and Bath said it was becoming more consistent after Junior Worlds. In Ljubljana, she completed the triple Axel-triple toe combination in her free skate, even as she noted a mistake later in the program. Her results now place that ongoing work alongside a concrete achievement: qualification for the Junior Grand Prix Final.
Takeaway: Bath’s two Junior Grand Prix victories secured her 2026–27 Final place and followed a historic World Junior silver for Australia.
