Petrokina and Selevko Take Lombardia Trophy Gold
Niina Petrokina and Mihhail Selevko both won gold at the 2026 Lombardia Trophy in Bergamo, giving Estonia titles in the women’s and men’s events. Petrokina held off Shin Jia by 1.15 points, while Selevko took the men’s title; the event was the fourth stop of the 2026/27 ISU Challenger Series.

Petrokina edges Shin Jia
Petrokina’s victory came in a close women’s contest. Shin Jia finished second, with Lara Naki Gutmann taking bronze. The result added a Lombardia Trophy title to Petrokina’s run of international wins this season.
Petrokina had also won the Tallinn Open in her hometown and the Trialeti Trophy in Georgia. Her short program at Lombardia was record-setting, marking a strong start to the season without changing the narrow margin between her and Shin in the final result.
Selevko wins the men’s event
Selevko claimed the men’s gold in Bergamo. Matvei Vetlugin placed second and Corentin Spinar third; Kyrylo Marsak, Daniel Martynov and Taira Shinohara completed the top six.
Like Petrokina, Selevko had won in Tallinn before taking the Lombardia title. He also earned bronze in Batumi, giving the two Estonian skaters a similar sequence of podium finishes across the same three competitions, though their results were not identical.
A Challenger Series stop
The Lombardia Trophy is part of the 2026/27 ISU Challenger Series, a circuit with 13 events. Its position as the fourth event of the series placed the Bergamo competition among the season’s early international tests for skaters building results before other assignments.
For Petrokina and Selevko, the Lombardia golds were their second victories in the three-event run that included Tallinn, Bergamo and a competition in Georgia. Petrokina won all three; Selevko’s bronze in Batumi distinguishes his record from his teammate’s.
Next competitions
Both skaters are slated to compete at 2026 Skate Canada International, their first Grand Prix event of the season. Finlandia Trophy is identified as their other Grand Prix assignment, scheduled for the second part of November.
The Lombardia results establish a shared milestone for the Estonian teammates, but their next starts will come at a different level of competition. Their Skate Canada performances are the next results to watch.
